Hi, I’m Jeannine Tamez, PhD, and I help moms and moms-to-be just like you: ones who struggle to prioritize their own needs while balancing the demands of kids, relationships, and their careers. Moms who want to reconnect with themselves and feel worthy again, but just need a compassionate guide to get there.

I help my clients find renewed confidence, genuine happiness, and a deep sense of fulfillment by equipping them with the tools they need to ditch the mom guilt and embrace being good enough.

Many of today’s solutions for burnt out and stressed moms can feel impractical or impersonal, especially when you have multiple things you are juggling all at once, leaving you feeling like you are dropping the ball or alone. I know your circumstances are unique, so every step we take together is tailored to your specific needs, always with a meaningful end goal in mind.

How I work:

I am dedicated to helping overwhelmed mothers reconnect with their true selves, rediscover joy, and feel more present in their motherhood journey.

At my practice, you’re welcome just as you are. I’m not here to judge you. Instead, my role is to make space for all of you (big emotions and all) and meet you exactly where you’re at in your journey.

While offering emotional support and guidance is a major part of my role, I’m not a “listen-and-nod” kind of therapist. I take an active role in your journey, teaching you evidence-based techniques to help you

  • I’ve always known I wanted to be a psychologist which likely stemmed from my natural curiosity for human behavior mixed in with my genuine interest in wanting to connect with others.

    I graduated from Texas A&M University with my PhD in Clinical Psychology in 2010 and completed two post-doctoral fellowship programs through Baylor College of Medicine (BCM) and the University of Houston (UH). I worked as an Assistant Professor at BCM for 5 years. While at BCM, I was heavily involved in teaching, supervision, and mentorship of psychiatry and psychology trainees. I was also one of the Directors for an Intensive Outpatient Program. I then worked for 5 years at a community mental health center providing more clinical services.

    I stepped away from agency work in 2022 and decided to open up my private practice so I could better serve the women I want to work with in practice.
